Who I Am

I'm Luca Cacchiani, founder of LX Software. I work with Hong Kong startups and small teams as a fractional CTO or CIO: senior technical leadership, architecture, hiring support, and delivery accountability without the cost of a full-time executive.

My focus is AI, cloud, and microservices. I've built and scaled products including Evolve Sprouts (Montessori training for families), Siu Tin Dei (curated activities for kids in Hong Kong), and ai-cxo (an AI-powered SaaS for running a company with AI CEO, CTO, and CIO roles).

What I Do

I plug in where the technical gap is: strategy, architecture, hiring, delivery, or rescue. Engagements are an advisory retainer of a few hours a week, a fixed-scope project such as an architecture review or a due-diligence report, or a short AI prototype sprint.

What does LX Software do?

LX Software is the consulting studio of Luca Cacchiani, a Hong Kong-based fractional CTO and CIO. I help startups scale with AI, cloud, and microservices.

What is a fractional CTO or CIO?

It's senior technical leadership on a part-time basis. You get CTO/CIO-level strategy, architecture, hiring, and delivery accountability without the cost of a full-time executive.

How much of your time does an engagement get?

An advisory retainer is a few hours a week: a standing call, async review of decisions, documents, and pull requests, and a monthly written summary. A scoped project such as a due-diligence report or an architecture review has its own timeline. I do not take full-time or interim roles.

How is an engagement priced?

Advisory work is a monthly retainer. Due diligence, architecture reviews, and prototype sprints are fixed-fee against a written scope. I quote after a first call, once I understand the stage, the stack, and what you need decided.

Do you work with Hong Kong startups?

Yes. I'm based in Hong Kong and work with local and remote-first startups. Calls are early morning or evening Hong Kong time, which is daytime in Europe and the Gulf, so founders there get live hours too.

Can you do technical due diligence for an investment?

Yes. For an angel, seed, or Series A ticket I review the codebase, architecture, infrastructure, security posture, and team practices, then deliver a written report that names the risks and what they would cost to fix.

Which technologies do you work with?

AWS (serverless, containers, CDK), TypeScript and React, Python, SQL, and LLM tooling. I favour event-driven microservices, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD with observability built in.
